Californ- I-A!

Spencer and I had the opportunity to go to San Fransisco and surrounding area this last week. Spencer was able to attend the Google IO conference and I tagged along. Here is the run down of our trip. First, we flew into Oakland, the city Spencer was born, some 30 years ago...don't worry honey I'll save the exact age until your next birthday post!!  We grabbed the train to San Fransisco and stayed at the Westin Hotel in downtown San Fran.  I realized if I lived there I would be broke.  I saw how many people where begging for money and my heart broke. That was just on the way to the hotel.  I ended up giving this lady a dollar.  She just kept saying she just needed 75 cents for the subway.  Whether or not it was her line, she was very grateful. I was very grateful for a place to stay warm and comfortable and how spoiled I felt to stay in a nice hotel.  Room number was Spencer's birthday, no less.  It was really great, had soft beds, and pretty s...

Mother's Day....Boy does Heavenly Father love me!

I find it amazing that on a day we remember mother's I felt like Heavenly Father was sending His only little moments to tell me how much he loves me.  I'm blessed to be a mother to three beautiful, smart, and kind girls.  They are not perfect, but neither is there mother.  Nonetheless, God still loves me and knows I'm doing the best with what I have at the moment.  I pray my children will overlook the imperfections and remember my love. I sat smelling the beautiful petunias Spencer bought me and read the Bible about Moses instructing the children of Israel to "Beware that thou forget not the Lord thy God"(Deuteronomy 8:11).  All I could think about what how blessed I was to be sitting on a beautiful day and learning about the blessings of following the Lord. My family eventually woke up and...

It's snowed, rained, hailed, and we've had some cold days.  We'll really appreciate the warm weather this summer! Here's the breakdown to get caught up.  Spencer went to Israel for work and was able to "walk where Jesus Walked".  Here are a few highlights, but you can ask him more about it for yourself.  It was truly a unique experience. What may be the Garden. What may be the tomb. The important part is that we can think about the Savior and imagine what he went through and remember...... Next, Abigail had her class program...she's a fifth grader and they are learning all about the different ages of America.  She dressed up as an Native American Indian.  Thanks to my sweet neighbor, we had a pattern and I tried my hand at making a costume. It was wa...
