Joy

Hola everyone! In the world of missionary work this week we have had a wonderful week. We set up family history booths at the Farmers Market and in the town square for Valentine's Day! The one in town Square was the most fun. We had people writing someone they loved and why they loved them on hearts and hanging them on a tree that someone made for us. I'll attach a picture for reference because we've had people get confused before! From that booth, we met this wonderful woman named Y* who is so excited about doing her family history! We get to meet with her at the Family History Center here in Santa Rosa on Tuesday. My companion and I are so excited! I've actually been doing my own family history a lot recently. Our Mission President challenged us to do an hour each week, but I can honestly say I've done about 2-3 total hours! It's so much fun to do, but as my companion can testify I get super frustrated with it when I can't find a record for that pers...

Family History, I Am Doing It!

Hola everyone! This week has been a great week! This whole week was really focused on Family History. Me and my companion were called as the Family History Sisters in our Zone. Thay means that we are in charge of getting other missionaries to the Family History Center and spending a lot of time doing missionary work with Family History. It is a lot of fun! We met with a woman called A*. She had a lot of questions and really want to know what is true. We are so excited to be part of her journey. Some fun things this week: 1. We went to the Family History Center and missed the first bus to get there. We had to wait for the next one to come and then we didn't get back until when we had to go tracting. It was so stressful! 🥴 2. Me and my companion had to present on how to do Family History Booths in Zone Conference! It was stressful. But I loved it and Heavenly Father was definitely guiding that presentation! My thought for this week is sort of odd. I had an experience these...

What Do You Pray For?

Holã everyone! This week has been awesome! It was the first week of the transfer this week and it was a pretty good week. We had E come to church and she was taught the last part of the Plan of Salvation! She was so excited about baptisms for the dead. We also got in contact with N and he was really happy to see us. He is doing really good and was excited to learn about Family History. He doesn't know a ton about his family so he is looking forward to learning more! But this week I had a lot of personal growth things happen. I had some experiences with prayer that reminded me that "God will give liberally to him that asketh. Yeah, ... If I ask not amiss." (2 Nephi 4:35) I had been praying that something would change my situation, not that I would change. And because of that, I wasn't getting answers - or at least I wasn't acknowledging the answers I was receiving. This reminds me of how each of our earthly and mortal perspectives at some point and time will be...
