Hi Everyone!!
This has been a good week for us! Almost everyone we were teaching is gone, not responding, or in Mexico, but that's okay! Heavenly Father needed us to meet other people and focus on them. We met a man named N on a bus and gave him our number. He texted us later that evening then came to a New Years' breakfast and the ward here loved him! Another person we found is this older woman named E! She's a grandma who met missionaries down in So. Cal. (Southern California) before she moved up here. We met her the day after she moved into her apartment, which is closer to ours. We really were supposed to meet them both.
We also had Zone Conference this week and it really focused on the new Missionary Handbook. It did come out last month, but because it was Christmas our mission president wanted us to focus on Light the World. I love this new handbook! It focuses so much love and common sense and how we can better be disciples of Jesus Christ. I walked out of that whole conference really understanding what I had to do to change to be better.
One thing I've been realizing and that I was reminded of at Zone Conference and today was the power of prayer. We have been given the chance and power to talk to God directly. I have been struggling with that. But I do know that God answers prayers and He listens to our concerns and worries and our prayers for others. I'm so grateful for that and the continued chance to learn more about and be reminded of the power of prayer.
